When it rains, there is an element of chaos, of disruption and of beauty, just like life.
Some of us sway to the sound of the falling rain.
The waving trees look eternal and brand new , all at the same time.
Some of us worry about the rain drops on our suede shoes
Sometimes things go well, and sometimes they don’t go as planned.Yet this is also part of the plan.
It is the cycles of the world, the rhythms of nature, that are in play. Do we play along ?
The heavy rain quietens the heart and brings a sense of exhilarating peace as we accept the moment. At other times we slip , as we often will, and still laugh. We now learn to discern which tiles of the floor to step on.
So it rains. If it is a storm we weather it, we brave it, for we know its the Creator’s Gracious Will, and we know there will be dawn. In simple rain, we smile and let our hearts and every part of our soul -sing.
Its lovely when we slip and fall , then get up, turn back and smile, knowing that its okay, even fun, to fall.
When there is wisdom and loveliness of the world all around us, slipping seems small , even cute and interesting , a pebble on a gorgeous way.
The rain brings forth the wisdom within, the acceptance of mistakes, the celebration of nature and nourishment, of renewal and joyous creation. It reminds us to simply -in this moment – be.
To smile at mistakes, to laugh at ourselves and to see the beauty in everything and within.
It is a beautiful world!
When the rains fall, when car windows have droplets upon them, and we listen to soft music, on a lush green drive, then all is well.
When we fumble a little, in the face of something new, and its rains, we know this is also the nourishment we need, of the earth and the soul.
When we drop in on a friend at work and see her cubicle full of pink memorabilia, we smile at the childlike innocence of our dreams, and hope it lasts forever.
When we come home to a hot meal, and warm blanket, we’re rested – secure inside.
So it rains on,
on the floor we may slip at,
on the streets as they’re washed anew,
onto our spirit as we rest in this moment,
and all is well.
It’s poignant, its acceptance, its renewal, its surrender, its absolutely beautiful.
The rain and what it does to the spirit inside.
Very nice writing – a reflection of feelings from the heart.
@John. Thank you John. The rain and indeed all of Nature, does stir one deep inside. We learn from it, live within in and go to it. God’s Grace

Hello Uzma,
I am so pleased that I chose the *Low Road* to “travel” on from my home of San Diego, Ca. to meet you in your home of India. We do not have very much rain this time of year here. Our inland desert and mountains will get rain that comes up from the Sea of Cortez in Baja, California (Monsoon humid rain).
Last week as I was returning from fishing the sun was brightly setting into the Pacific. There was a heavenly rainbow coming down from the mountains some 50 to 60 miles to the east. The rainbow lasted for almost an hour as the sun slowly went down!
When we finally do get a cool rain along the Coastal Strip, the earth opens up to receive it. I love how the seagulls will find clams along the low tide shoreline, pick them up in their beaks, fly high with them, and then drop them on the hard cement walk ways! Smart way for the birds to get some supper! This seems to always happen during and after a refreshing rain.
“Simple rain” To this is the Irish phrase…”Soft Day Thank God”
I have shared this poem once before at another site. Please follow the link to Garrison Kellor’s site:

Thank you ever so much Uzma!
Salaam,

@Rand. Thank you Rand for your beautiful description of the rainbow and of the sea gulls in the rain. How life changes when it rains !! Its lovely. Its makes us a little more alive. Love the Irish saying. There is a softness in the day indeed, when it rains. Thank you for the link to the poem and for being here. God bless.
Correction: I meant “The High Road”…must of been the altitude?
Beautifully written, Uzma…the words just drip gently – like the rain….
@Corinne. Thank you so much your appreciation Corinne. Rain and Nature, do that to us, don’t they. Awaken a gentle spirit, make us gracious and so inspired.
