Healing:redefined for me

The idea of healing has always fascinated me. Initially, I thought it was only the body that healed and allopathic medicine was the only tool. Now am learning there is so much more to this beautiful world. Yoga helped me heal a shoulder pain that painkillers and physiotherapy couldn’t help. I’ve seen acupressure lower eyesight power, also observed chronic fatigue syndrome in someone being treated with alternative therapy. Cancer cells are seen to shrink when the person finds meaning and lets go of his troubles. Yet we are still in the domain of the body.

It is the mind that heals. Our thoughts, our emotions, govern our body and cause disease and by finding peace within, peace of mind and soul – the body heals.

The heart heals.

A return to a place of peace and joy within is healing.  The presence of a wise person soothing us with their compassion is healing. To see a child giggle is healing. To deepen understanding of ourselves and this world is healing.

To pray, to trust, to love, to surrender, is healing.

It’s a whole new world or a whole old world that was always here, but we couldn’t see it.

How do we heal?

The journey begins with opening our hearts and souls. It begins by looking with wonder at our selves and the world?

What is clouding us from seeing our true, peaceful state – the healed lovely state.

Our fears, our pains ,our past stories, our conditioning, our imagined dramas, our ‘I’’s or egos, create the trouble , in body , mind , heart and soul.

When we begin to reconnect with the peace within, when we set out to re-discover the beauty within, when we see the shadows fall away, then healing begins

And what a wonderful journey it is..

  6. I believe all healing happens in the mind if the body heals or not…I also agree forgiveness is healing but that’s in the mind as well. Love this post.

@ Tess. So true, Tess. Thank you for bringing your wisdom to this post. You bring up such an important point -all healing is in the mind, whether the body heals or not. Am learning to accept the ‘or not’ part . My gratitude for your being here , so I may learn.
